Westminster Presbyterian Church has many ministry opportunities for its members.
Children’s & Family Ministry
Westminster Presbyterian Church offers activities and learning opportunities for children of all ages. We staff a nursery and preschool room. Our Christian Education building has been a blessing, giving us the space and pleasant surroundings in which to educate and encourage the children of our church. Your children are very welcome at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Please ask a greeter, usher or just about anyone if you need help finding the right place for your children on Sunday morning. If you have questions about our children’s ministries, please call the church office at 936-564-0203
There are many opportunities for the youth of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Fun, fellowship and ministering to others are the focus. Our youth have participated in various mission projects over the last several years. And of course, guests are always very welcome!
Westminster University Fellowship (WUFs)
Westminster University Fellowship (WUF) is open to any college students or students of college age. And of course, guests are always welcome at any of our activities. WUF is also a recognized campus organization of Stephen F. Austin University. The purpose of WUF is to provide Christian fellowship, promote understanding of the Reformed and Presbyterian heritage, and provide opportunities for leadership and community service for all full and part-time college students.
Sunday Bible Study and Free Lunch
WUFs are invited to attend the Common Grounds class each Sunday on the first floor of the Christian Education building. Breakfast is provided.
Adopt a College-Student Ministry
At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we want you to feel welcome to worship with us, but we also would like the opportunity to be your church family away from home. We have an Adopt a College-Student Ministry for those students who may need and want the help and support of a family in Nacogdoches. This is an opportunity for our church to link more closely with individual university students on Sunday and especially during the week, such as (inviting students to dinner, including them in family activities, picking them up for church, driving them to Walmart, etc.) We strive to provide college students with a “family” away from home which in turn enriches our families.
We believe that ministering to the hearts and minds of the adults in our congregation is one of the most important things we do at Westminster Presbyterian Church. As we fellowship and learn together, we are preparing ourselves to minister to others outside the church. We have several ministries of interest to our adult members and visitors.
